My Sea Scroobles [yellow:mono] 3.2018 painting is in the current exhibition called Actants along with students from the BA (Hons) Fine Art Programme. Responding to work in the collection and to the special exhibition by Gerald Scarfe.

In the Front Room, The Beaney, Canterbury.

“I stand in front of the sea, my eyes following individual waves and drawing scribbly lines one after another to capture their movement and spirit. When I’m drawing waves I’m caught up in their energy and the joy.

A dialogue is created between the drawings. A narrative. A language.

The individual wave drawings are cartoon-like and the layout is like a storyboard. In this painting parts of the drawings have been highlighted and shaded so that they have become something else.
